The work to install the new Play Carpet at the Children's Play Area is now complete and the Play Area is now open for business! The wooden steps up to the slide have now been replaced also, although it's proving difficult to source bark chip to finish this off. We're still working on this one!

Repairs to Children's Play Area

Work to repair the steps on the slide will start tomorrow, Wednesday 15 July, which means that the slide will be out of use temporarily.

Following this, on Monday 27 July, work will start on re-surfacing parts of the Play Area matting. This will give a better surface which will not keep cracking as the existing surface has done, and is expected to take up to 5 days.

Play Area Re-opens

The Parish Council is pleased to announce that the Play Area is open once more for all children up to 12 years. Following government advice, we have run safety checks, completed a Risk Assessment and put up advisory notices for parents and children to read. You are especially advised to use hand sanitiser before and after you use any equipment.

The new Helping Hands group has helped many people in the first three weeks of its existence. Bosworth Grange Site Closes

The Bosworth Grange building site on Welford Road has now closed for the foreseeable future.
The front of the main driveway from the road had the tarmac applied this morning, and this afternoon the temporary traffic lights and the fencing in the road are being dismantled, so that this section of the road should be free from obstruction for some time to come.

Environment Agency Investigation On Local Farm

Leics. County Council and the Environment Agency are investigating the dumping of a huge amount of waste at Firs Farm, Welford Road. This farm, which is next to our village allotments, has had its gates secured by LCC and diggers are on site.

Car Driven At Police in High Street Burglary Attempt

Police were alerted after shutters were forced at our supermarket at around 1.00 am this morning. A Police DC, Chantel Booth, was clipped by the car in Bell Lane and she was also threatened with a crowbar.

Husbands Bosworth Arsonist on the run

The arsonist Daniel Milburn, who caused three fires in our village in August 2018, has gone missing from Kirkham Prison, Lancs. He was sentenced to five and a half years in October 2018.

He set fire to property at Mowsley Court and Brooke House Care Home, and also a van near the Church. More details on

The tree on Boaty Hill which came down last Monday has now been cleared, so the tow path is now accessible again. This was blocking the emergency access to the Kilworth end of the canal tunnel.
